The documented story
The band made goodwill tours and, by 1952, was reported to make nearly one hundred appearances a year, including Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce goodwill trips.
People and leadership
Everette Green Fry was founder and leader. He died in 1942; later evidence documents an American Legion Post 35-sponsored Kiltie Band, but the complete post-Fry leadership succession is not established.
Community and organization
The original group was Fry’s organization. By 1952, the Oklahoma Hall of Fame describes American Legion Post 35 sponsorship.
Reading the evidence
The packet distinguishes the 1923 Fry organization from its later sponsorship arrangement and does not claim an uninterrupted legal entity without records bridging Fry’s death and the Post 35 period.
Questions for further research
The organizational transition after 1942 and final active date remain important disclosed gaps.
Dated evidence in this record
- 1948 – 1955
