Jazz history
James Rushing
OHS records Rushing's Oklahoma City birth with a disputed year, Douglass High School and Deep Deuce roots, 1927 entry into Walter Page's Blue Devils, relationship with Count Basie, 1935 Basie Orchestra role, later solo career, and 1972 death. A secondary biography conflicts on the birth year, so the register preserves the uncertainty.
