Washita County

Musical history, people, ensembles, photographs, and source material from the Oklahoma Musicians Library.

The musical history of Washita County.

Washita County's strongest currently accessible band evidence centers on Cordell and the county's school systems. The Cordell Beacon uses the phrase “Pride of Cordell” for the local marching-band tradition, and Cordell Public Schools identifies a band director in a later institutional record. Cordell High School yearbooks are available as a research lead. Gateway preserves the *Washita County Enterprise* from Colony and other regional records, creating a path toward early school, parade, civic, and veterans-band evidence.
