Musical history, people, ensembles, photographs, and source material from the Oklahoma Musicians Library.

The musical history of Texas County.

Texas County has one of the strongest located band-history leads in the Oklahoma Panhandle. The No Man's Land Museum in Goodwell reportedly holds a photograph titled “The Guymon Cowboy Band, 1938,” with Hank Herber included in the member list. A related museum account describes a Guymon school band and orchestra directed by M. S. Keith Henderson and a child band mascot wearing a handmade miniature version of the school's new uniforms.
