Musical history, people, ensembles, photographs, and source material from the Oklahoma Musicians Library.
The musical history of Caddo County.
Caddo County has a directly documented school-band tradition at Carnegie High School from at least 1935 through 1960, and a substantial later record at Anadarko High School remains a major research target. The 1935 Carnegie yearbook lists band participation across multiple students, identifies Walter C. Cameron in a music and band faculty role, and shows that band existed alongside orchestra, choral, operetta, and other school music activities. (high) The 1952 Carnegie yearbook identifies Walter H. Cameron as instrumental-music faculty and documents both the regular band and a Swing Band, including student references to tuba and bass drum. (high) The 1960 Carnegie yearbook identifies Aldo A. Di Ianni as instructor of instrumental music and director of the band and records marching-band and Swing Band participation. (high)
